Playground Cleaning

Throughout our years of installing playgrounds, we’ve noticed how visibly filthy the play equipment can become. Over time, a buildup of organic matter, such as black mold, lichens and dirt, starts to appear. In addition, microorganisms that can’t be seen with the naked eye can be revealed with a simple swab of a Q-tip and plate culture.  During the last several months of living in a world experiencing a pandemic, we’ve found it critical to provide our customers with a solution for cleaning and disinfecting their outdoor play equipment.

Our 3-step process eliminates organic buildup and prevents it from recolonizing:

Step 1

Pressure washing using 220° water to kill and inactivate viruses, bacteria and other pathogens. This will remove most of the visible organic buildup on the surfaces.

Step 2

Application of sodium hypochlorite, or bleach, that stays on applied surfaces for 10 minutes before being cold rinsed.  This will destroy bacteria and viruses at the microscopic level.

Step 3

Application of a product called MonoFoil, a revolutionary antimicrobial shield that stays in place for weeks and even months depending on frequency of use after the initial application. Monofoil bonds to the surface it is applied to and destroys any microbe it comes into contact with.  Re-application of MonoFoil can become part of a routine maintenance plan.
